RECORDING ARCHIVE / AUGUST 2006

Archive desk

Archive desk / AR-0827-WG

Review AR-0827-WG / West gate, 27 August 2006. The desk needs a reconciled release entry for the wall-marking incident.

Use the retained picture and the desk records to identify the source recorder, correct the picture clock, and establish which complete copy and transfer packet were valid at the historical desk freeze: 27 August, 21:10 BST.

Desk worksheet: where to start
  1. Watch all 20 seconds of record 132. Pause around 3–7 seconds for the writing, 8–11 seconds for the dropped object, and 14–19 seconds for the departure. Save a frame or use full screen if the small object is hard to see.
  2. Use the effective patch time to identify the connected recorder. Compare two clock slips from the same recorder and run: picture-time difference divided by UTC-reference difference gives picture seconds per site second. Convert UTC to BST, then correct the first picture stamp.
  3. At the 21:10 BST freeze, read back candidate copies. A complete copy must contain all 480 frames from the same source strip and run, at matching frame positions.
  4. For that copy, use the journal state and check that a packet names its active manifest and has an accepted receipt before the freeze.
